What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll talk through what's brought you to therapy, your history, and what you're hoping to get out of the process. From there, we'll start to shape a treatment plan tailored to you.
Do I need a referral to book?
No — you don't need a referral to see me.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes, sessions are available via telehealth or in person.
How long is a session?
Sessions run for 1 hour.
How often will I need to attend?
This depends on your individual circumstances and treatment plan, and we'll discuss what's appropriate together.
Do you offer couples counselling?
No, I work with individual clients only.
What other therapeutic approaches do you use?
Alongside CBT and DBT, I also draw on other approaches where appropriate, including schema therapy, motivational interviewing (MI), and transactional analysis (TA).
Do you accept Medicare referrals?
Yes. If you'd like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a valid GP Mental Health Care Plan and referral.
Do you accept NDIS clients?
Sessions funded through NDIS are either billed directly to your NDIS plan manager, or to you if you are self-managing your funding.
Do you accept Workers Compensation (SIRA) clients?
Sessions funded through workcover – State Insurance Regulatory Authority for NSW (SIRA) – are billed directly to the insurer, so there's no upfront out-of-pocket cost to you.
Do you accept private health insurance?
Insurance isn't billed directly. You'd pay the session fee and claim your rebate separately with your insurer — it's worth checking your level of cover with them first.
How do I pay?
Payment is processed either via eftpos at the end of the session, or automatically via stored card on the day of your session.
What's your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice will be charged in full.
How do you handle my privacy and personal information?
Your privacy is protected in line with my professional registration as a psychologist. The only circumstance in which this could be overridden is a court subpoena.
